  • Because of a congenital facial abnormality, Kaya was born with a unique-looking face that appears squished and grumpy.
  • The adorable tabby has a sweet and friendly personality, but she hasn’t received an adoption application yet.
  • She and her rescuers are all waiting for someone to grab the chance to love on her.

Kaya was born with a unique-looking face. A congenital facial abnormality gave her face a squished look that sometimes made her seem grumpy. But that doesn’t make her any less adorable!

Kaya was only 4 weeks old in July when she was found outside. She was malnourished, dehydrated, and covered in ticks and fleas.

TO Rescue (The Ontario Rescue) was called for assistance, and founder Odelkis Barrera made it a point to help the kitten out. Odelkis and a foster family nursed Kaya back to health. When she became healthy enough, her “talkative and spunky” personality came out.

Her eyesight is not yet perfect after a recent surgery was done to help relieve discomfort and improve her vision. Still, she can get around easily and can always spot other animals and humans.

“She’s incredibly smart and only wants to be around people and [be] held,” TO Rescue shared on Facebook. “Not only is she the cutest kitty ever but she’s incredibly sweet.”

The rescue added that Kaya gets along well with everyone.

All she wants is to be loved on and caressed,” Odelkis shared. “She can’t get enough — so if you’re not petting her, she’s petting herself against you.”

Like most cats, Kaya loves playing in a cardboard box.

Kaya Loves her Box!

Kaya spends hours playing inside of her box. She definitely keeps herself entertained! She is such a precious little girl. She wants to remind everyone that her yard sale event is next weekend. The rescue will be collecting items all the way through November 4th. Donations can be dropped off at our rescue 4650 Arrow Highway B7 Montclair 91763. Drop off hours are between 9 AM and 3 PM daily. Kaya is also waiting for her forever home, preferably one with a nice environment and a family that could dedicate their time and loving attention to her. Most importantly, she needs someone who’s in it for the long haul.
