Training Dog Lends A Paw To Firefighter Locked Out Of Office [Video]

  • Fire safety training dog Koda was at the administrative offices of the Georgetown Texas Fire Department when she noticed a firefighter standing outside the door.
  • Koda then pushes the door’s bar to open it and let the firefighter inside.
  • The Georgetown Texas Fire Department released the video of its best fire dog Koda’s helping paw incident in its Facebook account.

Koda, a Golden Retriever, is a fire safety training dog with the Georgetown Texas Fire Department.  She is known for lending her paw to anyone who needs her help.

This time, she let in one firefighter who was locked outside their building.

The firefighter said, “I was working late at our administration offices when I stepped outside. Our keycard access system temporarily went down, which locked me outside and Koda inside.”

When Koda noticed that the firefighter was tapping on the door, she did not hesitate to go to the door and opened it for the firefighter.

The clever was just sniffing her way around the office but when she saw the firefighter outside, she wagged her tail, stood on her hind legs and pushed the door bar to let the firefighter in.  All this was captured by the security cameras of the Georgetown Texas Fire Department.

The Georgetown Texas Fire Department released the footage in its Facebook account and captioned it, “What happens when you get locked out of the Public Safety Building at night? You rely on the best fire dog Koda to rescue the day!”

The department is proud of Koda, who, when not undergoing fire safety training, works as a registered therapy dog.
