In the video, Ventura’s baby is seen crying and wriggling, while Nimby looks utterly unimpressed and ready to “pack his bags.” Ventura mentioned that Nimby “hated all the crying” and would often position himself as far away from the baby as possible.

“I posted the video when our baby was 1 month old, and back then, Nimby would actually run far away whenever he cried,” Ventura explained via Instagram.

Fast forward to now, her baby is 3 months old, and although Nimby is somewhat used to the crying, he still doesn’t particularly like him.

The video has gone viral, amassing more than 742,700 views and over 148,000 likes on TikTok. The caption humorously notes, “he’s gonna pack his bags and treats soon.”

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) suggests that some cats struggle with change and can be dramatically affected by a new baby. They recommend preparing cats for the new addition by adjusting routines one or two months before the baby arrives.

Upon bringing the baby home, owners should calmly greet their cat in a quiet room without any other guests. This helps the cat reconnect before the chaos begins.

The ASPCA also advises placing a blanket or infant clothing in an area for the cat to investigate and get used to the new smells.

Any time the cat and baby are together, supervision is crucial. The baby’s nursery and crib should be off-limits to the cat. Once the baby is asleep, owners should spend one-on-one time with their cat to ensure they don’t feel left out.
