  • Remember Prancer the “demonic” Chihuahua who was up for adoption?
  • His foster mom described him as “a haunted Victorian child in the body of a small dog” in an adoption post that went viral.
  • All the odd characteristics pointing to Prancer enticed his now-mom Ariel Davis to adopt him.

Prancer is not your ordinary Chihuahua.

Prancer is actually a “13-pound rage machine,” “a haunted Victorian child in the body of a small dog,” or “a Chucky doll in a dog’s body.”

These were just some ways his foster mom described him in an adoption ad that had gone viral.

Prancer was living in a foster home until his foster mom Tyfanee Fortuna was able to find a loving home for him in April.

Tyfanee posted the adoption ad on Facebook, which was picked up by Twitter user @HLMongoose before it was deleted.

The ad said that Prancer’s “ideal home would be with a single woman, a mother and daughter, or a lesbian couple,” adding that he wanted to be “your only child.”

The post went on, “If you have a husband don’t bother applying unless you hate him.”

When Ariel Davis saw the post, she knew that he was “perfect” for her.

“It’s been absolute heaven, even through the struggles, because life is about struggles,” Ariel told the ‘People Every Day’ podcast. “Nobody has a perfect life. Nothing’s ever perfect. It’s about what you make of the situation.”

Prancer reminded Ariel of her dog Doodle, who was similar with Prancer. She spent a lot of time working with Doodle to understand his personality and learn about herself through him.

Three years ago, Ariel had to re-home Doodle and her other dog Blue, though, as she was struggling with drug addiction.

“I’m used to dealing with animals that struggle, that have anxiety disorders, that don’t get along well with other animals or other people, and I felt right off the bat this little kinship with Prancer,” Ariel said in the podcast interview “He spoke my language and I spoke his.”

Ariel added that she could meet all of Prancer’s needs.

“I’m a single woman. I’m a single lesbian. I live with another woman. I don’t have any men in my life. I work in a women’s rehab. I don’t have any other animals. It just felt like a perfect match … and the rest is history,” she told People.

And this was something Tyfanee agreed with. Upon reading Ariel’s story via email, she said that Ariel “is the one” for the unique pup.
