A young father’s incredible will to live is touching hearts across the nation. Evan Parker, just 21 years old, faced a terrifying moment in early 2026 that could have ended his life — but his story is one of hope, courage, and the power of community support.

Working as an arborist on a job site in Georgia, Evan was struck by a 25-pound tree limb that fell 60 feet and hit him in the head. The helmet he was wearing that day became his guardian angel, likely saving his life in that split second.

Though Evan currently faces paralysis, his family remains steadfast in prayer and hope for his recovery. This devoted young father to a 1-year-old son has an entire circle of family and friends standing by his side, believing in brighter days ahead.

Dakota Roberts, owner of Southern Roots Tree Service, shared the heartwarming backstory of Evan’s dedication to his family:

“Evan is one of the best people you could ask to work with. He’s a hard-working man who will push as hard as ever possibly needed to provide for his family … Years ago, Evan found out his loving girlfriend was pregnant with their beautiful baby boy. Evan knew he had to do something bigger to provide for his family. He came to me and asked for work, so I let him split firewood. Over time, I let him work some tree jobs with me and also got him in connection with some other people to work with as well.”

Community Shows Up Big for Hardworking Young Father

Evan’s loved ones have created a fundraising campaign to help him, his young son, and his girlfriend through this challenging time. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming — the community has already contributed more than $60,000 to help with ongoing expenses related to his recovery.

And the news keeps getting better. Recent updates from the fundraiser paint an encouraging picture of Evan’s fighting spirit:

“Evan seems to be getting stronger every day. He is now completely weaned off the ventilator and has had his colostomy and suprapubic tube placed. These are major steps that will make coming home much easier on both Evan and his caregivers. We are so proud of how hard he continues to fight through every challenge put in front of him.”

Every small victory is a testament to Evan’s determination and the power of a loving community rallying around one of their own. This young father’s journey reminds us that miracles happen when we refuse to give up hope.
