Bartender and single mom gets $4,000 tip from stranger: “She’s a gift from God”

• Bartender and single mother, Chelsea Lantrip, received a tip of $4,000 from a female customer.
• Lantrip has been living from paycheck to paycheck and the generous tip would help in her son’s education when he starts college this fall.
• Lantrip considers the woman a guardian angel who has been sent at the right time when they are needed.

Chelsea Lantrip was working her usual Tuesday shift bartending at the Chances Dance Hall in Cleburne, Texas when two women treated everyone with a round of drinks.

Lantrip was not expecting that she would receive a big tip from one of them as their bill only came to $179.50.  She was expecting the usual 20%.

But one of the women tipped her $1,000! Bell started crying but the woman said it was not good enough and steadily increased the tip until it reached $4,000!!!

Bell said, “I didn’t believe it until it went through the credit card machine, I still didn’t believe it until it hit the bank.”

For a bartender and single mother, receiving that huge tip was heaven-sent.

According to Carmen Senese, the owner of Chances Dance Hall, Bell lived from “paycheck to paycheck, tip to tip”. Bell’s son will be starting college soon at Texas A&M University.  He got a scholarship and a grant to study at the college but there’s still the need for funds to pay the full tuition fees.

The unexpected gift from the generous woman would help in her son’s education. It would also be used to pay some of her bills and take her family out to a nice dinner.

Lantrip considers the woman her guardian angel.

She said, “She is a gift from God. I believe in guardian angels. I believe in people coming into your life at the right time that you need them. And she was definitely one of them.”
