  • A video of a border collie with the poster explaining that the dog likes to watch football rather than taking a walk has viewers taken.
  • Border collies are known for their sheep herding skills and this one has his eye on the ball like he’s guarding every member of a herd.
  • The video has now garnered 535,000 views on TikTok and numerous comments.

For those familiar with Border Collies, the description for the breed would be bred to herd and guard sheep.

According to the American Kennel Club, they are “remarkably bright workaholic” and the earliest record of their sheep herding ability was in Wales in 1873. “The crowd were astonished that the border collies were able to herd sheep into a small pen, guided only by hand signals and whistles from their owners.”

The outdoors is where they would ideally thrive.

In the TikTok video posted by @MikeWTog of his border collie named Scamp, the caption reads, “Most dogs like to go for a walk. Every evening he asks to go and watch soccer.” It has already gained 535,000 likes and several comments.

In the video, his owner and Scamp are glued to a game of football behind a fence. The pup is not taking his eyes off the ball and is on guard to catch it. His concentration is that of a herding dog taking count of every sheep in his care.

One viewer commented: “Aww bless him, he’s like ‘kick it to me lads,’” while another one added: “That’s a border collie, they want to chase the ball. Take him to herd sheep, feed his soul.”

A look at the other videos on @MikeWTog’s account would reveal Scamp’s love for the sport.
