Bride Whose Car Gave Out Hitchhiked to Her Wedding Ceremony

  • Shenice and her family rented out a vintage Beauford car for her wedding, but the old car broke down on their way to the church.
  • About 20 minutes late and still 25 minutes away from the church, Shenice decided to just hitchhike when she couldn’t get any taxis.
  • After 15 minutes, a couple stopped their car and helped them — and the lovely bride got to her wedding ceremony safely.

While most brides hope their wedding day to be perfect, it can’t be helped when something goes wrong at the last minute. So when a new bride encountered a roadblock on her way to her own wedding ceremony, she made sure to keep her positive attitude.

Shenice was to be wed to Sean Beirne at the St. Barnabas Church in Gloucester, England.

Most of the wedding party had gone ahead, but Shenice, her mother, and her sister had rented a vintage Beauford car for the special occasion.

But then the old car broke down on the way — and they were still about 25 minutes away from the church!

Shenice tried to call for a taxi but to no avail. It would also take a full hour for the rest of her bridal party to come back and fetch her.

They had already been running late, so Shenice started to hitchhike.

After about 15 minutes, a car stopped and two kind strangers helped them.

Matt and Michelle Moore “were coming from near Dudley for a trip to look around the Gloucester Quays,” Shenice wrote.

Shenice and her family safely arrived at the church — but of course, the bride had to take a picture with her “guardian angels.”

Shenice shared, “I honestly cannot THANK them enough for stopping and taking the time out of their afternoon to give us a lift to the church. I am ever so grateful!!”

Shenice and Sean’s wedding ceremony started an hour late, but it was definitely a wedding to remember!

The vintage car was also repaired just in time for their reception party.

Shenice proved to be one chill bride — she definitely showed everyone that she will not break down from a little bump in the road!

Best of wishes to Shenice and Sean!
