Darla, a 2-year-old cat, showed just how much she loves and misses her dad, Dan, when he recently took a job out of town. When she heard his familiar voice coming from the pet camera, she decided to stay by it to listen to his voice.

Dan had been keeping tabs on Darla through the camera in the corner of the room.

In a video posted on TikTok on February 28, Dan’s voice can be heard over the camera speaker, calling out “Oh Darla!” Darla’s mom then excitedly chimes in, “Who’s that? Is that Daddy?”

Darla’s ears prick up, then she sprints toward the voice! She climbs onto her cat perch when she realizes where the sound was coming from.

As soon as Darla reaches her perch, Dan tells her sweetly, “Hi baby. Hi! Yeah, I see you. My sweet baby girl. I love you so much. I miss you, and I’ll be home soon. OK?” He adds, “I’ll always come home to you; I love you so much.”

In the heartwarming clip, Darla can be seen gazing affectionately toward the camera as she hangs on to every one of her dad’s words.

The video has since been viewed over 6 million times! It also has over 1 million likes and 6,000 comments, with the award-winning comment saying, “I need a man that can talk Darla to me.”
