Cat Surrendered For Wanting Too Many Cuddles Receives An Early Christmas Gift

• Ellie the cat was adopted but then later returned to the shelter because she wanted too much cuddle from her family.
• While at an adoption event, Julia Wood chanced upon Ellie and her story and so she took photos and posted them online garnering thousands of positive responses.
• Sammi Schouler knew she could give the love and affection that Ellie deserves and so she adopted her just before Christmas.

Cats have always been regarded as aloof and seldom show affection.  But then we have seen photos and videos of cats showing love and affection to their humans and they just break the wrong impression.  Now here comes Ellie who was surrendered to a shelter because she wanted too many cuddles.

Sad but true. 

Julia Wood shares that she was at an adoption event and noticed the cat.  She took a closer look at Ellie and read the note explaining Ellie’s circumstances on why she ended up at the shelter — being too affectionate and clingy.

Julia said, “I just felt so sorry for her. She was so friendly, rubbing up against the glass, rolling around and purring. I just couldn’t believe she was up for adoption.”

She took photos of Ellie, wrote about her sad story and posted them online.

Thousands of people responded positively to her call.  One of them was Sammi Schouler who said, “I was heartbroken when I learned that Ellie was returned for wanting too many snuggles.”

Sammi just knew that she could give Ellie all the love and affection and that Ellie would fit well in her home.

And so, Ellie received the greatest gift of all this Christmas — the gift of a forever home where she would be showered with all the love and affection that she deserves including snuggles in bed with her new mom.

Julia says Ellie is adapting well to Sammi.

She said, “I love seeing updates on her. She looks like she’s settled in and getting as many cuddles as she wants. When I saw that she was getting adopted, I cried a little bit. I’m so happy for her and her new family.”
