When Brenna Telaroli first took Mokou, he was just a sickly and tiny 8-week-old kitten. He was born with a huge umbilical hernia and needed urgent surgery. But the moment she saw his tantalizing blue eyes, it was love at first sight for her and she was willing to do everything for him. 

Now that Mokou has recovered completely, his personality has come out and sometimes, it can be a little too much to handle — especially when his mom is working from home.

“For starters, he is a major talker,” Telaroli told The Dodo. “He has something to say about everything, including when I am at work trying to talk to customers.”

Mokou loves his mom’s attention and he would do everything to distract her from work — which he succeeds most of the time. 

“He loves to play — that is all he wants to do when awake,” she said. “He is either throwing his toys in the air to catch or running like a madman from room to room.”

Whenever Brenna is on her computer, Mokou knows exactly how to steal her attention — by playing with the mouse! He would grab the computer mouse and play tug-of-war with it. And once he gets a hold of it, he’s not giving it back!

“It’s him saying, ‘Mom, stop working and play with me or I’ll play with what you have until I get my way,’” Brenna said. “When he has his mind set there is no trying to distract him from his course.”

It can be frustrating sometimes for Brenna when she badly needed to focus on her work. But all it takes is just one look at Mokou’s eyes, and she gives in right away! Can’t help but take a break!
