Curiosity is a part of growing up. Humans and animals are eager to discover new things at a young age. Marvin, like most kittens, loved exploring all around his family’s house. When his mom noticed him lingering near the bathtub, she had no idea that the kitten will be one of those cats that are not averse to water.

Marvin’s family had been noticing that the kitten seemed fascinated with water. He always played with the water in his water bowl, and he loved hanging out on the edge of the bathtub.

The curious kitten finally jumped into the bathtub one day — and they all realized that he was a water-loving cat!

He was so happy and excited to finally be in the water that he didn’t mind getting completely soaked!

Unlike most cats, he looked so comfortable and at peace in the water.

His mom, who shared a video of Marvin’s bathtime adventure, said, “We figured he was OK with water, but this is next level — he’s basically a sea otter.”

Marvin’s family thought that it might just be a fluke or a one-time thing. But Marvin sneakily jumped into the bathtub again one day while his mom was preparing for a bath.

His mom now has to schedule separate bathtimes for Marvin so he wouldn’t steal her bath! The water-loving kitten can’t resist going into the bathtub every time someone’s there.

Marvin’s parents have since bought him many bathtime toys, like toy fishes and rubber duckies, for him to busy himself with while enjoying a bath.

Marvin has also gotten a glimpse of a much larger body of water. His parents have been taking him to the beach to see his reaction. They don’t know if he’ll want to swim in the ocean yet, though, since he’s still taking his time to get used to a new place.

Marvin’s parents had no idea that their newest member of the family would love water, unlike most cats. On the bright side, they wouldn’t have any trouble at all bathing him — he’d jump into the water himself!
