Dad Dog Waits for Puppies’ Birth Outside Vet Clinic

Veterinarian João Áureo Rodrigues de Oliveira was at their vet clinic in Santo, Brazil, when he noticed an unusual scene on their security cameras. Moments later, he was helping a dog mom deliver puppies while their dad waited outside.

Their clinic has been used to stray animals wandering outside their doors, but they would usually come and go. João noticed that this particular dog had no plans of leaving.

So he went outside to check on the dog, and realized that she was pregnant and about to give birth very soon!

João quickly took the dog mom inside and prepped to help her give birth.

It wasn’t long before they spotted another dog waiting outside their doors — the puppies’ dad!

The vets were amazed that the dog dad found their clinic and waited outside patiently.

Thankfully, it wasn’t a long wait. The dog mom safely gave birth to six puppies. All the little ones were born healthy and happy.

Thanks to João’s help, the dog family are all safe and are now waiting to be adopted.

It all happened at the right place and at the right time. The dog mom found herself a vet who would help her, and the dog dad was able to find his family and be there for them!
