Dog Freezes In Place After Seeing Cat Halloween Decorations [Video]

Holidays bring out creativity in people when it comes to decorations. But pet parents have to keep their fur babies in mind when it comes to setting them up. Some decorations can eventually be destroyed within moments of being put up, while some decor can be downright spooky for these precious pets.

Take for example Maverick. This big-hearted dog, described as “super sweet” and “super loving” by his mom Lilly Ann Flores, loves befriending people and fellow pets.

But this sweet and friendly dog is no less immune to the spookiness of some Halloween decorations.

One night, Lilly put up some cardboard cutouts of black cats in their front yard to take part in the spooky celebrations.

Apparently, Maverick had no idea what was going on and was spooked the moment he caught sight of the eerily bright-eyed newcomers.

When his family finally spotted Maverick, he was frozen like a statue — smack-dab in the middle of the black cats:

Lilly shared, “When I turned around, he was standing frozen like that. I died laughing. I’ve never seen him do that before.”

We have no idea what Maverick was thinking about during that time. But some viewers thought that the pup may actually be “pointing.” Some dogs, particularly hunting dogs, do this when they wish to alert their humans of a point of interest.

Perhaps the sweet Maverick was just trying to protect his family from the unknown invaders.

Thankfully, the cats were not plotting anything nefarious, after all. They were just there to brighten the occasion.

Lilly shared, “I think [the cats] just caught him off guard.”

At least Maverick’s family knows that he will alert them about anything scary, even if he’s scared of it himself!
