A delightful TikTok video has captured the internet’s attention, showcasing the amusing differences between two dogs on a Wisconsin farm. Kyra Egan, 30, shared this charming video featuring Mya, a 10-year-old black Labrador, and Soma, a golden retriever who is still adjusting to farm life.

Mya has been a farm regular since she was a puppy, and her affection for the cows is reciprocated. “Mya is very comfortable going in the pens by the cows,” Egan explained. “She has been around most of the cows since they were born, so they are very used to her. Being licked by the cows and licking them back is a daily occurrence for her.”

In contrast, Soma, who moved from the city to the farm at two years old, finds the cows intimidating. Egan’s husband, Ed, and Soma relocated to the farm, and while Soma is more anxious, she has slowly grown accustomed to her surroundings. Egan noted, “We joke that Soma’s purpose in life is to cuddle. She is a very loving and emotionally intelligent dog that prefers to be cuddled up with us or chasing a ball at home.”

The video has gone viral with over 1.5 million views and 331,800 likes, showing Mya’s gentle interactions with the cows and Soma’s nervous exploration of the barn. Despite being on the farm for a couple of years, Soma still feels uneasy around the adult cows. Egan encourages “her bravery” with treats to help her adjust.

Neither Mya nor Soma have formal roles at Egan Family Dairy, Inc., though Mya takes pride in being part of the “welcoming committee.” Egan humorously mentioned that Mya is the first to greet visitors.

The Egan family also has a new addition, a six-month-old golden retriever named Sunday, who they hope will become comfortable with the cows, much like Mya. The video has sparked curiosity and laughter, with Egan receiving numerous inquiries about farm life and cow comfort. She shared, “I have a lot of friends and family from the city who have asked questions and want to learn more about dairy farming.”

The TikTok video has amassed over 230 comments, with viewers enjoying the humorous interpretations of the dogs’ thoughts. One comment reads, “those love licks must feel so good to a dog lol like a bigger dog showing love and care,” while another adds, “Just needs some time to warm up.”
