Quick Smiles:

  • A young artist, just three-and-a-half years old, paints stunning scenes entirely from memory.
  • His mother noticed his talent early, encouraging his natural creativity with art supplies.
  • Despite their financial constraints, his family supports his artistic journey wholeheartedly.

Meet Andria, a remarkable three-and-a-half-year-old from Tbilisi, Georgia, whose talent for painting has captured the imagination of many. Without any formal art training, this young prodigy creates breathtaking impressionistic paintings of natural scenes, all from memory.

Andria’s journey into the world of art began at a tender age. His mother, Mariam Jakhaia, a clinical psychologist, introduced him to paints when he was just seven months old.

“At seven months old, I introduced him to paints in a playful way so he could mix the colors with his hands,” Mariam shared.

By the age of one, Andria was already adept at holding crayons and brushes. His early creations included a drawing of an owl from the children’s book The Gruffalo, a moment that made Mariam realize her son was doing more than just playing.

“He especially loves the sea, summer, and lush green landscapes—they frequently appear in his paintings, reflecting his fascination with the natural world and his joyful connection to it,” she explained.

One of Andria’s most impressive feats was painting an entire ocean scene from memory after a family holiday.

“He had seen the sea, the sand, and palm trees and when we got home he painted it all perfectly from memory,” Mariam recalled with pride.

Recognizing her son’s extraordinary gift, Mariam decided to invest in better materials for him, despite their financial constraints.

“We are a low-income family, but we make sure he has books and art supplies to explore his creativity,” she said.

To date, Andria has completed 14 paintings on canvases, supported by his parents who purchase the materials he needs.

His story serves as an inspiration to many, encouraging young artists everywhere to explore their creativity.
