  • Chorizo and Cocoa have been going to doggy daycare until it closed because of the coronavirus outbreak.
  • They had to stay at home all the time while their parents continued to work until their FedEx driver dad thought it would be fun to tag them along doing deliveries.
  • The pups have so much fun they are now the new FedEx deliver dogs! How cool is that?

On regular days, Chorizo and Cocoa go to doggy daycare three times a week or more, until it closed temporarily because of the pandemic. Now the pups have to stay at home, while their parents have to work still. So, the family thought of ways to keep the dogs entertained.

Daniel Nava, who works for FedEx as a delivery driver, thought it would be fun to have some company while doing deliveries—which he usually does alone. So he started tagging Chorizo and Cocoa along on his route.

“The decision to bring them with me on deliveries was not easy but my supervisor is very understanding,” Daniel told The Dodo. “Also I had brought them with me before with no safety issues — I have them on a harness that is anchored down to my seat while we drive.”

Although he was initially nervous having them around while he’s working, he saw it was all worth it because both of them were having so much fun.

Cocoa and Chorizo took their new jobs seriously as FedEx delivery dogs and they behaved during working hours so Daniel rewarded them with their work uniforms!

“I ended up making their outfits out of some old work shirts, and I got them some doggy sunglasses on Amazon,” Daniel said.

Now they look  so cool and professional!

Both are the cutest FedEx delivery dogs ever and people who saw them would agree to that!

“They seem to enjoy their time on the route — sometimes we stop by at the local neighborhood parks and I let them run around for a little bit,” Daniel said. “We also deliver to the Del Mar Highlands Town Center [a local shopping center] … and the workers there love seeing them.”

Chorizo and Cocoa surely will continue to work with FedEx as long as the daycare is still closed and we don’t mind because they are just an adorable pair.
