In a heartwarming story out of DeLeon Springs, Florida, a 2-year-old girl is recovering after being rescued from an above-ground pool by quick-thinking relatives and emergency responders.

When the family member who found the child realized that no one on the scene had CPR training, they called 911 and received instructions from a Telecommunicator Supervisor.



Deputy Kaelin Darcy took over CPR when they arrived on the scene, and the child was soon responsive and crying. She was taken to the hospital in serious condition but is now doing well and showing promising signs of recovery.

The Department of Children and Families is investigating the incident, but for now, let’s celebrate the fact that this little girl is alive and on the mend.
