  • Milan’s dad passed away even before she was born.
  • For her dad’s birthday, Milan wrote a note for her dad, which her grandmother attached to a balloon and released into the sky.
  • A couple of days later, Milan received a gift package from ‘Daddy in heaven’.

Travis, Tami Avolia’s son, was killed in a shooting in 2017 just a week after finding out he was expecting a baby girl.

Travis never got to meet her daughter, so for her son’s birthday, Avolia wanted to do something special. She released a balloon into the sky and attached a note from Travis’ now four-year-old daughter, Milan.

“She wrote a note to him, and I translated it and it says, “Happy birthday, daddy. I love you. I miss you. And I never wanted you to go away. Happy Birthday. Baby girl,” said Avolia.

But what occurred next surprised Avolia and her family.

A couple of days later, Avolia found a letter in the mailbox that says from ‘Daddy in heaven’ to ‘Baby Girl’.

A woman found the balloon at her home, according to a postal worker in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and grabbed a package addressed to “Baby girl” from “Dad” to mail it to the family a few days later.

“I love your birthday present. Thank you so much. Daddy loves you and Mommy so much and you all. Here’s a present that I made just for you. Hope you like them,” read a note inside the package.

Three handcrafted Christmas ornaments were also included.

“They are Christmas tree ornaments, and I am sending you a kiss from heaven. Snowflakes are kisses from heaven. I love you so much. Daddy,” the letter read.

Avolia said it was priceless to see the smile on Milan’s face when she received the gift from her daddy in heaven.

“After what I went through, I lost faith in people. They brought it back. I just want to thank you, whoever it is. I want to thank you,” Avolia said.
