In a heartwarming turn of events, a cat and a rabbit in North Carolina became co-parents to each other’s litters.

The bunny, named Amy, became an inter-species nanny after the cat, Chrissy, moved her kittens into the rabbit hutch. Wildlife rescuer Destiny Hampton was surprised to discover the unusual natal scene, but both mothers were getting along well and feeding all the babies.

Even though Chrissy is feral and doesn’t let Hampton touch her, she has been cuddling up with Amy and helping take care of the young ones.

“The babies are all doing great, and cuddle all the time,” exclaimed Hampton on social media.
