Kid Broke Down In Tears When He Learned His Wish To Have A Puppy For His Birthday Has Come True!

• All Braden Peevy wanted was to have a puppy on his 13th birthday.
• But his dad just wouldn’t want to train another puppy because of his busy schedule.
• So when he finally gave in and adopted a new puppy for Braden, the kid broke down!

All that Braden Peevy ever wanted to have for his 13th birthday was a dog to be his best friend. He and his sister tried hard to convince their dad to get another dog for weeks but he just wouldn’t agree.

“The kids wanted something they could do everyday. That was their pitch to me: ‘It’s a great time to get a puppy,’” their father, Alfred DeWayne Peevy told The Dodo. “It got to the point where I had to be like, ‘I’m putting my foot down. I am not agreeing to a new puppy.’”

Alfred was hesitant to have an addition in the family because he already has a busy schedule and training a new puppy would take his time. But all of that changed when his wife introduced April Rose to him.

When they went grocery shopping with a long list of snacks from the kids, they met a Great Pyrenees-boxer mix and instantly fell in love. Alfred gave in and decided to adopt yet another puppy right there and then.

It would be a great surprise for Braden for his birthday!

His wife put the puppy in her crate in the back of the car together with the groceries and Alfred readied to record the moment on his iPad as they instructed Braden to get the groceries. He knew it would make Braden happy but he had no idea how much it would mean to him!

“So he’s just dancing around because he’s happy he’s getting his snacks,” Alfred said. “He opens up the trunk and looks in there … he saw the dog’s stuff first. So he didn’t think immediately, ‘Oh, I got a new puppy.’”

The moment the kid noticed a fur ball in her crate, he broke down after realizing his seemingly impossible wish had come true.

“After seeing the video, I felt a lot better that I caved in and said yes to the puppy because then I knew how special she was to him,” Alfred said.

Braden chose April Rose to be the pup’s name and he’s been helping his dad in taking care of her.

April Rose on the other hand has brought so much happiness to the family. It was the best gift Braden received on his birthday.
