Little Dog’s ‘Werewolf’ Smile Makes Him Ready For Halloween

• A little dog with a unique smile was found wandering the streets of Texas.
• When her photo was posted on Facebook, it was love at first sight for a couple who found the puppy unique with its werewolf hair and smile. 
• The couple adopted her and spoiled her with her favorite toy in the world — Lamb Chop.

What does a werewolf look like? Huge dog but a lot hairy and with big fangs.  So, you would not think that a little dog would look like one, right?  But a stray dog found on the streets of Texas after Hurricane Harvey only has to smile and she would turn into a miniature werewolf.

But instead of getting terrified, Ashley Lamping-Conard and her husband immediately fell in love with her the first time they saw her photo. Her aunt works in a rescue center and had posted the photo on Facebook. The couple said they had never seen a dog like her.  

Conard said, “We reached out to my aunt to set up a time to go meet her, and she was just the sweetest little girl.”

They named her Darla. And her personality is the opposite of what she looks like. She is more terrified of meeting new people and animals.  But when she warms up and when she is with her family, she is super playful. And toys are her favorite things.  She would play for hours.

Conard explained, “She makes that face whenever she wants you to throw or give her Lamb Chop toy. She’s addicted to fetching them.”

Her obsession with Lamb Chop toys led her parents to buy toys centered around the theme until they created a collection.

When Darla is not playing with her toys, she can be found snuggling with her parents in the comfiest spot — close to her mom’s face.  

“She’s a huge snuggler,” Conard said. “If she’s not playing with her lambs, she’s trying to find the comfiest spot to cuddle up in — which is usually very close to my face.”

Don’t let the werewolf teeth scare you.  It is just a built-in costume for Halloween.  Get to know her and you’ll fall in love with the snuggly, Lamb Chop-obsessed puppy.
