Quick Smiles:

  • Trevor’s proposal almost ended in disaster when the ring dropped 118 feet into snow.
  • Night-shift supervisor Pat Harper searched for hours and found the ring with a metal detector.
  • The couple got their happy ending, making their engagement unforgettable.

A dream proposal on Michigan’s Skybridge took a turn when Trevor Van Camp’s engagement ring slipped through the bridge’s open grating, plunging over a hundred feet into soft snow below. He and his fiancé, Danielle Jenkins, searched for hours with help from Boyne Mountain staff and metal detectors but eventually left empty-handed.

Pat Harper, the dedicated night-shift snowmaker, refused to give up. Guided by hope and persistence, Pat finally uncovered the sparkling ring packed within a handful of snow late that night.

“I kind of sat there for a minute and thought, ‘There’s no way I just found that,’”

Harper recalled. The couple’s joyful reunion with the lost ring turned their proposal into a story of hope and gratitude.

“He saved the day — he really did,”

Danielle shared. Their engagement will always be remembered for its unexpected twist and touching rescue.

Through teamwork and kindness, this snowy adventure ended exactly as it should—filled with smiles and a future full of joy.
