Louisiana artist Matt Dawson’s latest work, “Starry Waffles,” has gone viral for its depiction of a Waffle House storefront with Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night” in the background.
Dawson attributes his love of the Waffle House to a special memory he shared with his wife while she was struggling with bladder and kidney issues.
“Starry Waffles” was sold within 10 minutes of being posted online for $600 and has gained attention from people recreating the artwork themselves.

Matt Dawson, a pharmacist and artist from Pineville, Louisiana, has gained internet fame for his latest work, “Starry Waffles.”

The painting features a classic Waffle House storefront with Vincent van Gogh’s iconic “Starry Night” in the background. Dawson, who has been painting for over 30 years, said he enjoys creating artwork that brings back good memories, such as his wife’s battle with health issues and their frequent visits to a Waffle House in Sorrento, Louisiana.
