Cat Couple finds Forever Home with Human Couple

• Gianna Llewellyn and Rob found two skinny stray cats when they moved into their new apartment.
• They soon learned that the female cat, Suki, was pregnant.
• So the human couple adopted the cat couple, Suki and Miso, and their 7 kittens all found forever homes.

A move to a new first-floor apartment spelled the beginning of a beautiful relationship between a human couple, Gianna Llewellyn and her boyfriend Rob, and a cat couple, a black cat and a small orange tabby.

The strays looked hungry, so they fed them with leftover salmon.

Gianna said, “They started to come back every single night after that. Meowing, waiting at the door, and sleeping on the windowsill.”

This started a pattern of the cats visiting the window and looking for food.  With constant interaction, the cats learned to trust Gianna and Rob. They soon started staying at their apartment. The cats can be found in the garden lounging during the day, and snuggling on the windowsill at night.

Gianna and Rob named the cat couple Miso and Suki.

As this set-up went on, Gianna noticed something different about Suki, the black cat. The two cats used to be very skinny but Suki’s belly had “seemed a little big for her. So we were like, ‘She’s either pregnant or something worse.’”

So Gianna coaxed the cat couple into newly-bought cardboard carrying cases to confirm their suspicions and have them checked with the vet. The cats have never been away from each other and the separation made Miso punch a hole in his box just to see how his partner Suki was.

Gianna said, “They kept meowing to each other from the cardboard boxes making sure the other was OK.”

It turned out that Suki was indeed pregnant and healthy. Gianna enlisted the support of the local rescue Little Wanderers NYC so she and Rob became the cats’ human parents. The expecting cat couple also got to move inside their home. 

When it was time for Suki to give birth, Gianna and Rob had only witnessed the birth of the remaining 3 kittens as 4 were already at Suki’s side when they got home.

Miso was always there to comfort Suki. “Every time she yelped from a contraction, Miso would run over to be next to her,” Gianna shared. Miso was a picture of a proud father as he played with the kittens and groomed them.

Gianna added, “There was one black cat, three gray and black tabbies, and three torties. In the tabbies and the torties, you can see a little orange in them, so Miso is definitely the father.”

Now, Miso and Suki will have no worry about being strays again as they have become a permanent part of Gianna and Rob’s family. As for the kittens, they all found their forever homes.
