  • Autumn was rescued from cruelty earlier this year after she survived a gunshot wound on her face and neck.
  • The “miracle dog” didn’t sustain any irreversible damage to her face, but she had to recover from her breathing difficulties and trauma.
  • Following her impressive recovery, she found a forever family that will give her a much better life.

Autumn was living a tragic life before she was rescued. When she arrived at an ASPCA shelter in N.Y.C., she had a gunshot wound on her face and neck. Fortunately, the bullet missed all her major arteries and the “miracle dog” didn’t sustain any irreversible damage to her face.

Medical supervisor Aubrey Crowley said, “Medically – this dog is a miracle.”

But while Autumn didn’t show any physical injuries, she had trouble breathing due to her injury. She had to undergo intense medical treatment at an animal hospital for a week for her injuries and breathing difficulties.

She was also traumatized by the gunshot wound and other forms of cruelty that she had to endure before. Autumn was still afraid of humans when she recovered at the shelter.

She spent weeks with ASPCA’s behavior experts who helped her develop a positive association with people.

After making an impressive recovery, Autumn’s calm and friendly personality shone through. She was finally ready to find a new loving family! And she didn’t have to wait long.

Jolynn Wojcik and her husband, Jason, were mourning their late dog and were looking for another companion for their dog Corona.

Jolynn shared, “We fell in love as soon as we saw her face. The resemblance to the dog we had recently lost was uncanny.”

It seemed like fate! The couple also had experience with caring for fearful dogs before, so they happily welcomed Autumn into their family.

They renamed her Nola and are planning to “spoil her rotten” for the rest of her life. Nola is now living a happy life with her new loving family and her new best friend, Corona.
