Beauty queen Daniella Alvarez has been through what could be considered one of the toughest days of her life. But she has been resilient and is now moving on from it.

Daniella had her arms wrapped around Ricki as they swayed happily to the rhythm of the music with smiles on their faces.

“Putting swing to life with my favorite partner @rickialvarezv,” she said in her Spanish caption. “Difficulties don’t matter! We must be resilient in life!!

In a month, Daniella underwent surgery to remove a lump from her abdomen which caused complications and she was later on diagnosed with ischemia — a condition which blood flow is cut off in a body part, which in her case,  her left leg — and she opted to have it amputated to prevent further complications.

She also shared on Instagram a photo after her operation surrounded by her loved ones and talked about how she loves her body the same way as before.

“I want to share with you my new version, I love my body as before, I am happy to be here in this world to overcome all the challenges that come in my new life,” she said. “I know that by the hand of God I will achieve EVERYTHING.”

“‘Feet, why do I want them if I have wings to fly’ ???????????? let’s go forward!!”

She never even cried during her recovery and only teared up a little when she had the surgery because of pain, she recalled in a different post.

In an interview with La Fm, a radio station in Colombia, the beauty queen said it will take time for her to start physical therapy because her right foot was also affected and still feels numb.

“I’ve been told that it’ll be at least six months before I can begin relearning the walking process due to my right foot losing functionality,” she said.

Daniella represented Atlantico and won the title Miss Colombia in 2011. She then represented Colombia in Miss Universe 2012.
