  • Noodle is a 13-year-old pug who loves being lazy.
  • So his dad Jonathan started a game to gauge his morning mood — he would have “no bones” if he’d flop back down and have bones when he’d be able to sit up.
  • Jonathan has since used the game as a self-care routine, saying that a “bones day” signals a chance to seize opportunites, while a “no bones” day is a sign to be kind to yourself.

Do you have the bones to tackle a busy day today? That’s the question that Jonathan Graziano and his adorable pug Noodle ask their TikTok viewers as part of a morning self-care routine.

Noodle, 13, loves being so lazy that sometimes Jonathan can’t get him to move. On some mornings, Noodle would just flop back down whenever Jonathan tries to make him sit up.

Whenever the adorable pug flops back down, it looked like he had no bones, so Jonathan started a game to gauge Noodle’s morning mood.

What’s heartwarming about this is Jonathan is the most supportive of Noodle — whether he has bones or no bones. Noodle is getting older, after all, so he needs his rest.

Jonathan noticed that when he shared their morning ritual on TikTok, some viewers used it “as a forecast for how their day was going to go.” So he decided to use the game as a way to spread positivity no matter the outcome. The adorable game has since become a self-care morning routine that has resonated with thousands of people.

Whenever Noodle woke up with “no bones,” he would tell viewers that it’s ok, and that it’s simply a sign to relax, take it easy, and be kind to yourself. But on days when Noodle “has bones,” he celebrates it and advises viewers to grab the opportunity to take on something big.

Jonathan and Noodle have since earned over 3 million followers — within just the two months that they started sharing their morning ritual!

Some viewers initially took “no bones” days as an omen for a bad day, but Jonathan wants everyone to see “no bones” days in a different light.

“So a bones day is a day where you have to go after your ambition,” Jonathan said. “A no-bones day is a day where you have permission to wear soft clothes, self-care, take a bath.”

The Bones or No Bones game may seem silly, but Jonathan has turned it into a wonderful self-care routine. It reminds us to celebrate little victories while also being kind to ourselves on days that we just don’t have the energy to do everything we wish to.

Jonathan considers Noodle the light of his life, so sharing him with thousands of fans has been really special. He hopes that their bond will inspire people to adopt older dogs who are often passed over.
