  • Preschool director Renee Dixson has always gone above and beyond for her students.
  • So when the pandemic hit her student’s families hard, she decided that Christmas won’t be the time she lets them down.
  • She became an Uber driver so she can earn extra money and buy gifts for all her students and staff members!

At Lynhurst Baptist Church in Indiana, preschool director Renee Dixson makes sure that her students are taken care of not just academically.

So when the pandemic impacted the students’ lives, she didn’t hesitate to take on extra hours to help them.

Many of the kids’ parents are now depending on food banks to feed their families, which could mean that they may not be able to afford presents this Christmas.

Renee decided to become an Uber driver to earn extra money — so she can buy Christmas presents for all her 50 students, as well as her staff members!

The kind teacher said she will even work until Christmas Eve if needed so she can get everyone their gifts.

The community recognized her hard work and pitched in to her cause. Thanks to her dedication and their support, Renee was able to go on gift shopping sprees on Target!

Renee explained, “I know how it feels to be down as a child because your parent doesn’t have anything. These children, their world just turned upside down on ‘em, no fault of theirs.”

She has always gone above and beyond for her students, which is why she wouldn’t let Christmas be the time she lets them down.

“Everyone always told me I have a big heart. I said, ‘No, I love children,’” she shared.

Well, we can surely say that both are true. Thanks to her selfless acts, her students and her staff will still be having a joyful holiday season.
