Now, he made sure to give back by handing out “Grants” to Miami’s Overtown residents. Before the previous year drew to a close, the rapper personally distributed $50-dollar bills to hundreds of residents in the area.

Aside from cash, Diddy and his kids also handed out gift bags filled with essential hygiene products and supermarket gift cards.

Everyone wore face masks or face shields while Diddy can be heard saying, “Love, love, love. Spread nothing but love,” as he handed out cash.

About 175 Miami families struggling financially amid the pandemic were also provided rent assistance, thanks to the combined efforts of the rapper’s charitable organization, philanthropist Michael Gardner, and the local youth group Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success.

Gardner told The Miami Herald, “I talked to Diddy and he wanted to do something to give back to the community. He didn’t want to have to go through the traditional channels. He really wanted to make sure the people in the community actually received the gift[s].”

The recipients of Diddy’s giveaway, which totaled more than 1,200, made sure to show him their heartfelt gratitude.

One grateful recipient said, “It’s a blessing for me and my family to come out here and get a gift card. [It’s] something I appreciate so much.”
