Mrs. Jingles, a sprightly 15-year-old Jack Russell residing on the Isle of Wight, has charmed the internet with her clever solution to a common problem faced by older pets.

Her owner, Kerrie, has shared a delightful video on TikTok under the handle @animals_and_other_family, showcasing Mrs. Jingles’ innovative method of using a stair lift to glide effortlessly up and down the stairs.

Despite her age, Kerrie notes that Mrs. Jingles remains active and full of life.

“Her back legs aren’t so good anymore, but she still loves playing on the beach,” Kerrie shared. “She loves her orange ball, which she carries everywhere, and her favorite treat which is fresh chicken. She can really pick up speed when the fridge opens.”

This zest for life has led Mrs. Jingles to embrace the stair lift installed in their home, a move that has garnered much admiration from the online community.

“When you can’t use the stairs anymore … Mrs. Jingles age 15 accepts this mission,” reads an on-screen caption in the video.

The clip has been viewed over 310,000 times, with many viewers expressing their affection and support for the senior dog’s ingenuity.

“This is precious,” commented one viewer. “My 17-year-old pug needs this.” Another added, “so lovely knowing that they understand they need help to get up and down the stairs.”

Kerrie expressed her motivation for sharing these moments, stating, “I love her and want to share that with others. I also really enjoy the dog community on TikTok.”

Research has shown that as dogs age, their ability to solve problems and socialize remains stable, even as their activity levels decrease.

Kerrie’s video has sparked conversations about the importance of caring for senior dogs, a sentiment she passionately supports.

“They’ve been loyal and loving all their lives, and now we need to cherish and take care of them in their old age,” Kerrie emphasized.
