Quick Smiles:

  • Sienna, a shelter dog, intuitively sensed a man’s impending seizure without any formal training.
  • Despite not being able to adopt her, the man’s family witnessed Sienna’s incredible instincts firsthand.
  • Sienna’s adoption fees and surgery costs have been covered, thanks to generous supporters.

At a bustling adoption event in Virginia, something remarkable unfolded that left everyone in awe.

Sienna, a dog of unknown breeding aged between 4 and 5 years, demonstrated an extraordinary act of intuition.

Breaking away from the crowd, she approached a man standing slightly apart from the center of the event.

Sienna’s actions were both deliberate and gentle.

“She sat quietly at his feet, refused to budge, and softly placed her paw on his leg,” the shelter shared in a Facebook post.

“It wasn’t a trick. It wasn’t prompted. It was pure intuition.”

Without any specialized training, Sienna began pawing at the man’s leg, sensing that something was amiss.

The man’s wife soon approached, recognizing the signs.

“My husband is either having a seizure or is about to have one!” she exclaimed.

Kristen Davis, the man’s wife, later explained in the comments section that her husband had experienced several myoclonic seizures earlier that day.

Although he seemed to have recovered after resting at home, venturing out again proved too much.

The seizures returned just as Sienna had anticipated, showcasing what the rescue described as the “magic” and “unspoken wisdom” that shelter dogs often possess.

While many felt it was fate that Davis and her husband adopt Sienna, they already have three dogs and cannot accommodate another.

Fortunately, the shelter announced that kind-hearted individuals have covered the costs for Sienna’s surgery and adoption fees.

“She has the innate ability to alert to a stranger’s medical needs—with no special training and just her love for humans as her motivation,” they wrote on Facebook.

“Please help us find her the home she deserves! A family out there needs her as much as she needs them!”

For those interested in offering Sienna a forever home, applications are being accepted.
