A funny video has appeared online featuring a woman unable to persuade her stubborn, sunbathing dog to move. With no other option, the dog owner had to call her husband to come home from work due to the dog’s stubbornness in leaving his sunny patch.

The video was posted by @keepingupwiththekerns and has already entertained more than 2 million viewers. It humorously depicts the woman seeking her husband’s assistance to coax their obstinate dog into the house. The text overlay in the video reads, “When you call your husband home from work because you can’t get your dog back inside from sunbathing, but you need to leave.”

The video has amused audiences, with plenty of pet owners admitting to having similar experiences with their dogs. The dog, a pit bull mix, is shown lounging contentedly in the sun, ignoring the woman’s attempts to bring him back inside.

Despite the dog owner’s attempts, she was forced to call her husband for help. On arriving, he found the dog still happily soaking up the sun. Despite his efforts to shift the dog, it was apparent the pup had no intention of moving.

The dog’s enjoyment of the sun is not unusual. Dogs are known to like sunlight, which provides comfort and helps maintain their slightly higher body temperature. Sunlight also regulates a dog’s sleep-wake cycle and encourages other processes that help them shed dead hair more effectively.

However, it’s important to remember that dogs, much like humans, can also suffer from sunburns—especially in parts of their bodies with less fur. This could lead to skin discomfort and possibly an increased risk of skin cancer.

Many pet owners are unaware that dogs can benefit from sunscreen. While fur does act as a natural sun barrier, it doesn’t always offer full protection. Therefore, the application of sunscreen to less furry areas and to pets with light or very thin coats is vital to prevent sun damage.
