This Adorable Cat Loves Hiding But is Really Bad at It

• Keanu is an outgoing kitty who has a sneaky reputation to uphold.
• So, he keeps hiding even though his family can totally see him!
• He has lots of hiding spots, but his lower half always sticks out.

Keanu was a rescue kitten who was found at an industrial house where his mom was an employee. Like most cats, he was initially shy, but it was not long before he became the friendliest cat. Despite his outgoing nature, Keanu’s favorite pastime is hiding.

Keanu’s mom, Dani Baker, told The Dodo, “He is cautious for the first five seconds he meets someone, then he is instantly their best friend.”

He’s also very sneaky: “When he’s not hiding, Keanu likes finding lizards and leaving them (alive and physically unharmed) in his dad’s shoes, gym bag, work bag, etc,” says his mom.

The sneaky cat loves hiding so he can observe from a distance without being disturbed. Unfortunately for him, though, he’s really bad at hiding — everyone can still see him!

His lower half keeps sticking out of his so-called hiding places!

Dani shares, “[He hides in] different spots. He gets creative depending on the furniture around.”

It turns out that Keanu usually hides near his dad, perhaps to watch over him.

Wherever he hides, his family can still see him — but the sneaky kitty hasn’t caught on yet! He’s so sure that he’s a master at hiding.

“[He thinks] we absolutely can not see him. We call to him (and he normally meows back) but when he’s hiding he doesn’t respond,” Dani shares. “Even if we tap his feet to let him know we see him, he won’t move.” 

Despite always being caught at hide-and-seek, Keanu insists on remaining in “stealth mode.” He has a sneaky reputation to live up to.

Or perhaps he just really wants some privacy, whether it be for observing everyone or just napping.

With the Christmas holidays approaching, Keanu has found a new hiding spot: under the tree! There’s definitely not much cover under there, but he’s convinced that he’s hidden.

Keanu’s hilarious attempts at hiding are so adorable — it only makes him more beloved by his family. Finding him is truly a bright spot in their day.
