Once upon a time, there were three little pigs who were living in a pen that was constantly flooded.

The pen, located in the woods near Norfolk, Virginia, was always getting flooded from the rainwater.

While PETA regularly sent fieldworkers to check in on the animals and bring fresh bedding and nutritious food, the flooded pen still made for an uncomfortable living space.

The pigs’ owner was eventually convinced to surrender the trio to PETA so they can have a better living arrangement.

The trio was then moved to The Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary & Rescue in Rougemont, North Carolina.

Thanks to the organization, the three little pigs started the holiday season in a new home.

They now have acres of open fields, where they can forage for fresh food. They are also constantly given loving care by the sanctuary’s staff, who give them delicious and nutritious foods. They also have their own swimming pool!

“These three little pigs are living happily ever after in their new sanctuary home,” said Daphna Nachminovitch, PETA’s senior vice president of cruelty investigations. “All pigs deserve the same chance at a long, fulfilled life.”

The organization also expressed their hopes that the trio’s story will encourage people to keep off pigs and go vegan.

Their statement read, “PETA hopes their story will inspire people to offer some comfort and joy to gentle pigs by keeping ham off the holiday table.”
