Two Playful Dogs Chew on a Winning Lottery Ticket in Oregon

  • Two dogs found a ticket on a chair and chewed on it.
  • Owners think that it is a winning ticket and so they send the chewed-up ticket to the lottery staff to reconstruct along with a photo of the “chewers”.
  • The ticket is indeed a winner and the owners got $8 from it and are using it to buy chew toys for the two dogs.

We have heard of dogs eating children’s assignments and business plans.  But this one, is a winning lottery ticket.  How can the owners claim their winnings?

Well, the dog really chewed on the tickets.  And their owners are working with the lottery staff for their payout.

It started when Nathan and Rachael Lamett left the ticket in an ottoman. 2-year-old Jack and 11-month-old Apple found the ticket and chewed some part of it.

The couple thought that it was a winning ticket. And so, they sent a letter to the Oregon Lottery together with the torn tickets and a photo of the two culprits.  They were trying to see if the lottery staff could reconstruct the remainder of the ticket to check if it really was a winner and an explanation of how it got eaten.

The Lamet’s wrote, “Along with this note is the remainder of the lottery ticket that was left. And a picture of the vandals for proof and because they are cute.”

The Lottery staff worked on reconstructing the $3 Pharaoh’s Gold Crossword ticket and it was indeed an $8 winner.  What’s even more delightful is that the Lamet couple can claim it.

And the Alaskan klee kais’ owner really knows where to spend it on— chewing toys for the two rascals! Rachel said, “That’s too funny. We are definitely getting more chew toys, they go through a lot. We love them, but they are crazy sometimes.”
