  • A couple from Michigan got married after having a son.
  • Before the wedding, their son, who was the ring bearer, was having a tantrum and didn’t get to practice walking down the aisle.
  • During the ceremony, the boy had the sweetest reaction to seeing her mom before she walked down the aisle.

Kristie Mihelich had no idea her son would end up being the star of her perfect wedding when she began preparing it.

After delaying their wedding due to the coronavirus epidemic, Mihelich, 40, and her spouse, Bobby, married on April 22 in West Bloomfield, Michigan. The couple first met as business partners before falling in love and getting pregnant. Since then, they always planned for Pierson to be the ring bearer, Mihelich said.

Pierson, 2, joined his father at the altar when the wedding ceremony began, and “Canon in D” started playing as the throng awaited the first glimpse of the bride. The groom wiped a tear as the doors opened, and tiny Pierson stood speechless.

The proud little kid could no longer control his delight, and yelled, “Hey mom!”. Guests laughed and clapped as he ran toward her with his arms wide and waving.

Pierson, who turns three on May 4, and Mihelich’s brother, Kirk, ended up walking down the aisle with the bride.

At first, Mihelich wasn’t sure how Pierson would respond on the big day.

“The night before, we had the rehearsal dinner (and) he was screaming bloody murder and he just wasn’t having it, so I had my brother-in-law take him outside and walk around,” she explained. “So he really didn’t get to (practice) walking down the aisle at all.”

Samantha Mihelich, the couple’s niece, shared a video of the now-viral occasion on TikTok, where it has gained over 950,000 views.

Mihelich is grateful for the recording, which was captured by his brother-in-law.

Pierson’s “energy” set the mood for the entire night, according to Mihelich.

“I couldn’t have planned it any other way and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Mihelich said. “To be so precious and sweet for his mama, and daddy loved it too.”
