Bella, a pit bull, and Lulu, a tabby cat, didn’t exactly hit it off from the get-go. It took a few weeks of careful introductions and a little bit of patience, but now, they are inseparable, cuddling “every night and day.”

Their adorable antics, including a video of them “sunbathing” together, have captured the hearts of millions. Since being posted the video has amassed nearly 14 million views on TikTok.

Hannah Wenzel, the human behind this delightful duo, shared with PEOPLE that she adopted Bella six years ago. It was her first day volunteering at the Wisconsin Humane Society when she met Bella.

“I wasn’t going to get a dog, but she is really affectionate,” Wenzel recalls.

Bella was a stray, and Wenzel received no information about her compatibility with other dogs or cats. But since Bella was Wenzel’s only pet at the time, she wasn’t too concerned.

Fast forward a few years, Wenzel relocated to Houston, Texas. It was there, under a table at an outdoor restaurant and bar, she spotted Lulu, a kitten, munching on chicken wings.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, we need to take her home,’” she remembers.

Initially, Wenzel tried to keep Bella and Lulu separate. “They had a couple run-ins where Lulu did not like Bella,” Wenzel admits. “She hissed at her and was scared of her.”

After ensuring Lulu was flea-free and vaccinated, Wenzel gradually started introducing the two pets. Over a span of two weeks, an unexpected bond began to form.

“One day, I woke up, and they were both in the bed with me,” she shares. “And now, they just don’t leave each other alone.”

“They play with each other,” she adds. “They cuddle. They get along great.”

Wenzel describes Lulu as a “crazy tabby” who’s “always knocking stuff over” and running around. “She has no fear,” she adds. “The vet actually said, ‘She’s very confident. … Just as long as your dog’s calm, they won’t have a problem.’”

Bella, on the other hand, is described as “very cuddly” and “sometimes lazy” but with spurts of energy. She’s also “very food and play-motivated.”

Lulu’s cat bed is right next to Bella’s dog bed, and Wenzel often finds them sleeping in the same one.

“Now, they’re like best friends,” she says. “If you can see one of them, you can find the other one.”

TikTok users have been charmed by the duo’s relationship. “I hope they find each other in every lifetime,” one user wrote.
