Woman confused with dog who wears a cone he hated wearing [Video]

• Chief the puppy was recently neutered and had to wear a cone for two weeks.
• He protested every time he had to wear the cone.
• When his owner took off the cone, Chief decided to wear it again.

Chief is about a year old and still very much a puppy, and he will always find trouble or adventure.

Whitley Hester, Chief’s family member, describes him as a “very mischievous puppy, who makes all kinds of trouble” and loves chewing up rugs.

Chief was neutered recently, which meant he had to wear a cone for two weeks. The cone did not delight him at all, and he whined the entire time. He attempted to gnaw it off but to no avail and was obviously looking forward to the day when he could finally get rid of it for good.

“He had to wear it for two weeks but struggled to make it that long,” said Hester. “The first day he was frustrated. In fact, he refused to get in the car or even walk at first if he had it on.”

Chief, on the other hand, handled the cone well and was finally free after two weeks.

However, on the same day Chief got to take the cone off, Hester found him wearing it again later in the day. She instantly went about trying to figure out why, and the reason was hilarious.

“I was so surprised because I knew that my mom had taken it off of him that morning,” said Hester. “I went to ask why he was wearing it again, and she replied, ‘He’s wearing his cone?’ in a shocked voice.”

Chief had apparently decided to put his cone back on for reasons unknown to his owners.  Even though he had openly disliked wearing it, he appeared to be fine with it – as long as it was entirely on his terms.

Hester watched Chief rolling around with his cone on, chewing it, playing with it, and having a great time. He seemed content, and she suspected he was just relieved he wasn’t obliged to wear it anymore.

“I think he felt like he won the battle,” said Hester.

After his victory lap, Chief decided he’d had enough of the cone. He simply wanted to end things on his terms.
