  • Despite skipping multiple grades, he excelled academically, passing New York State Regents examinations and scoring high on standardized tests.
  • Looking towards the future, this young standout has his sights set on New York University this fall, intending to pursue a degree in math and physics.

A 12-year-old genius from New York has something extra to celebrate – he’s a high school graduate! Suborno Isaac Bari has achieved the incredible feat of completing his high school education at Malverne High School on June 26.

Bari’s academic journey has been quite extraordinary. Despite skipping 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, and 11th grades, he validated his impressive academic prowess by passing the New York State Regents examinations to graduate.

While his academic journey was markedly condensed, it nonetheless remained strenuous and demanding. Rebecca Gottesman, the director of K-12 school counseling at Malverne Union Free School District, shared that Bari achieved a 1500 on the SAT, scored a 34 on the ACT, and pursued five AP classes during his high school studies.

On discussing his school life, Bari shared that it was indeed “long,” yet fruitful.
“It’s been an absolutely wonderful experience,” he mused, “I’ve met so many incredible people and have learnt an immense amount in both math and science, as well as other disciplines.”

Asserting his readiness to embark on a new academic journey, Bari revealed, “But I think I’m ready to move on and pursue my higher education to the best of my ability.” His school experiences seem to have left a powerful impression, as he added, “They treated me just like any other high school student … and that’s how I really wanted to be treated by the community.”

According to his academic plan, Bari intends to join New York University later this year. An exciting future awaits him there as he plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in math and physics. Bari’s ultimate academic ambition is to earn a doctorate and inspire young minds as a professor.
