Bride Channels ‘Rapunzel’ On Wedding Day After Testing Positive for COVID-19

  • After Lauren Jimenez and Patrick Delgado’s wedding was postponed twice this year due to the pandemic, they thought the third time’s a charm.
  • But the bride tested positive for COVID-19 days before the big event.
  • Lauren, who’s under quarantine, channeled her inner ‘Rapunzel’ and just like a scene in ‘Tangled,’ the couple was married as the bride sat in an upstairs window while the groom was on the ground.

Not even quarantine can keep a couple from making their vows.  Love knows no barrier.

Lauren Jimenez and Patrick Delgado’s wedding date, location, and guest list have already been changed three times this year because of the pandemic.

With their marriage license due to expire and county offices closed, they have finally decided on a November 20 date.  But luck was not on their side for three days before the date, Lauren tested positive for the coronavirus and had to be quarantined.

As the couple does not back down from a challenge, they found a way for their wedding to push through.  That is when they thought of the scene from the Disney movie, “Tangled”.

And so they had the ceremonies while still following social distancing rules. The groom and guests were on the ground while Lauren sat in an upstairs window. Lauren’s aunt made a 30-foot flowered ribbon to link the bride and groom together and symbolize “unity, love, and physical touch.”

According to their wedding photographer Jessica Castellano, it was the “most 2020 wedding” she has covered. The bond between the couple can be felt even with the distance.

She added, “I think the distance between them added way more magic to the wedding day. Imagine telling your kids that you got married while one of you was quarantined, just because you could not wait to marry the love of your life.”

Even before they have said the vow to love each other in sickness and in health, Lauren and Patrick have already lived it.

Lauren said, “I feel so lucky to have a partner who will support, love, and navigate through tough times. If we can get through 2020, Patrick and I can get through anything.”

Best wishes, Lauren and Patrick!
