Dad Draws Hilarious Cartoon Expressions for Cats

• After seeing a face mask that had different facial expressions on it, a cat dad was inspired to create a similar project.
• He started drawing silly cartoon expressions on small strips of paper and held them up to his cats’ faces!
• The silly expressions fit the cats perfectly, and their social media fans absolutely loved the drawings!

Getting stuck at home has made most people spend more time with their family, pets, and even unleash their inner creativity.

Take for example Adrian, from Melbourne, Australia. He has been stuck at home with his two adorable cats, a Scottish longhair named CleoCatra and a Scottish Fold named Atlas.

Adrian told Bored Panda that he’s “always looking for ideas” for his pets’ Instagram account, which now has over 125,000 followers.

After seeing a picture of a face mask with different expressions, he was inspired to draw a number of facial expressions on a few strips of paper.

When he held these up to his cats’ faces, he couldn’t stop laughing! He knew he had stumbled upon an incredible idea!

He started to draw more, including different sets of eyes, after realizing that the eyes are the “most expressive parts of the face.”

The expressions just fit CleoCatra and Atlas so perfectly! It helps that the two were willing to model his projects.

Adrian’s drawings soon became a hit with his cats’ social media fans. So he tried his hardest “not to repeat the same theme over and over again.”

Adrian says that although these annoyed cartoon expressions seem to fit his cats perfectly, the two are actually both laid-back and friendly.

“Atlas is a joy to have around the house. She’s very quirky and loves to lay on her back with her paws up in the air. CC is the typical little sister and loves to follow Atlas around,” he says.

It turns out that CleoCatra and Atlas are actually siblings, although from different litters.

The cats’ social media fans loved the silly cartoon expressions.

Adrian admitted that he had a bit of help from Photoshop to polish his drawings.

It’s amazing to see how a small strip of paper can transform a cat’s facial expression!

CleoCatra and Atlas love all the added attention they’ve been having, and Adrian has fueled his creativity — all while stuck at home.
