  • Payouts amount to 3-5 weeks’ salary, celebrated on Valentine’s Day.
  • Profit sharing continues a tradition of company generosity and appreciation.

Delta Airlines has made headlines as one of America’s most generous companies by awarding $1.3 billion in profit sharing to its dedicated employees. This substantial payout represents one of the largest in company history and is greater than what the rest of the industry combined offers.

On Valentine’s Day, known as Profit Sharing Day, employees receive a portion of the company’s revenue: 10% up to the first $2.5 billion, and 20% for anything above that mark.

The announcement means employees are receiving between 3 to 5 weeks’ worth of salary as a reward for their commitment throughout the past year.

“The passion and dedication of Delta people carried us through 2025 and will continue to propel us forward,” said Chief People Officer Allison Ausband.

Despite a challenging year including significant revenue losses from a prolonged government shutdown, Delta still distributed 8.9% out of a possible 10% in profit sharing, highlighting the company’s resilience and employee-first culture.

Delta’s ongoing recognition as a top workplace by Forbes and Fortune 500 demonstrates their unique approach to employee appreciation.

Profit sharing is rare among large companies today, making Delta’s commitment stand out as they reach a total of $5 billion shared with their workforce over the years.
