Quick Smiles:

  • Paolo the cavapoo refuses to relinquish his favorite spot on mom’s shoulder, even after the arrival of twin baby girls.
  • Despite being a pampered pup, Paolo has adjusted well to the new additions in the family and remains affectionate.
  • A sweet video capturing the family moment has gone viral, with TikTok users charmed by Paolo’s determination.

In a household bustling with the joy of newborn twins, one furry family member is making sure he doesn’t lose his cherished place. Paolo, a beloved cavapoo, insists on maintaining his position as the baby of the house, even with the arrival of twin sisters, Lily and Florence.

Molly Wickenden, 27, shares her home with Paolo and her partner Joe, alongside their twin daughters. The girls, born 11 weeks prematurely, “spent their first 54 days of life on the NICU ward,” Molly shared. Thankfully, they are now home and thriving.

As the family gears up for their first Christmas together, a delightful video has captured the hearts of many online. In the clip shared on TikTok by Molly, she can be seen holding baby Lily beside a sparkling Christmas tree.

Paolo, however, has claimed the ultimate spot, nestled comfortably on Molly’s chest with his head resting on her shoulder.

Molly captioned the video: “POV: Your mum bought home two new babies but you will NEVER give up your favorite spot on her shoulder. NEVER.”

She reassured Paolo with a sweet promise: “Don’t worry Paolo, the shoulder is yours forever my little parrot.”

The video has garnered nearly half a million views, with TikTok users expressing their love for the clip. One user commented, “I love when new moms still baby their fur baby.”

Another joked, “Baby probably doesn’t recognize you without the dog on your shoulder when sitting,” while someone else remarked, “Paolo said he was there first!”

Despite Paolo’s insistence on remaining close to Molly, he has adapted well to having the twins around.

Molly shared that Paolo is “the loveliest little dog, and has to be on top of me at all times—as you can see from the video.”

He has embraced his role as a big brother, offering kisses to the babies and even sleeping under their cot.

“He must just like to be close to them,” Molly shared.

While the cavapoo breed isn’t officially recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC), the mix of toy poodle and cavalier King Charles spaniel is known for being affectionate and great with children, making them ideal family pets.
