In the midst of the chaos caused by Hurricane Milton, a rescue dog found an unexpected sanctuary in the home of a kind-hearted foster carer. The dog’s tranquil repose was captured in a TikTok video shared by Kirsten Kim, known online as @kirstennnk.

The video, posted on October 11, has resonated with viewers, garnering over 139,000 likes. Kirsten’s foster dog, who was taken in during the storm, can be seen sprawled out on her couch, blissfully oblivious to the turmoil outside.

Hurricane Milton unleashed its fury along Florida’s Gulf Coast, with winds exceeding 100 miles per hour. Animal shelters in its path were prompted to act swiftly, relocating animals to safer locations or finding temporary homes for them.

Kirsten, residing in Miami, stepped up to provide a safe haven for one displaced pet. In the video, an overlay text humorously notes:
“My hurricane foster having the best sleep of his life snoring and farting while dreaming on my couch.”

The video sparked a wave of emotional responses from viewers. One commented,
“If you can’t adopt him please continue to foster him until he gets adopted.”

Another viewer pleaded,
“Please let him stay with you. He thinks he made it out.”

The sentiment was echoed by others, with one user expressing,
“I am sobbing thinking about him having to go back he’s going to be so heartbroken. Thank you for giving him the best 8 days he’s probably ever had.”

A fellow foster carer added,
“I hope all the people giving out the guilt trips go foster animals too. As a foster myself, those that stepped up to help, even if very short term, are heroes.”

Kirsten reassured her followers that although she couldn’t adopt the dog herself, she hoped the viral attention would help him find a “forever home.”

As the video continues to touch hearts, it serves as a reminder of the impact that even temporary acts of kindness can have on the lives of animals in need.
