Lab chases after mom’s car while dragging dad along for a surprise run [Video]

Taking your dog out for a walk is considered good exercise. Sometimes, though, a walk turns into an unexpected run. There’s usually no stopping dogs once they decide to sprint after something — especially if they’re a big dog! And if you have them on a leash, chances are you’re gonna have to run after them.

Bailey the Labrador retriever was out on such a walk with his dad when he spotted a car and recognized it as his mom’s. He was so excited to see his mom that he started sprinting after her!

In a clip shared on TikTok, we can see that Bailey nearly caught up to the car before the vehicle pulled away again.

His poor dad was dragged along and had to sprint as well!

Bailey’s mom, Kathryn Johnson, wrote in the video caption, “Poor husband didn’t stand a chance. When Bailey wants to go somewhere, he goes.”

The car eventually stopped, finally giving Bailey’s dad some much-needed rest. Phew!

Several dog parents have related to the video, which has been viewed for over 2.3 million times.

One viewer observed how Bailey’s dad was so relieved that the car finally stopped. Another joked that they would stop the car to pick up their dog but leave their husband!

Keeping up with our pets’ energy can certainly be exhausting, but it’s always fun. We can only imagine what it would be like to have a much larger dog do what Bailey did!
