In a delightful video that has captured the hearts of many, a Maryland dog owner shared the stark contrast between her pups’ reactions when woken up by dad versus mom.

The video, shared by Danni Bova Keane on TikTok, shows her husband, Bobby, approaching the dogs’ crate, prompting an immediate burst of excitement from the pups. They jump and wag their tails, clearly thrilled to start their day with him.

However, when mom approaches the crate, the scene changes dramatically. Annabelle and Norman, both 4-year-old American bully littermates, are in no rush to leave their cozy spots. Instead, they take their time, even attempting to burrow under the blanket.

Keane explained that she is usually the one to wake them unless it’s a weekend or her husband is home from work.

“When he wakes them, they know it means something fun will be happening that day,” she said. “Whether it’s an early morning walk, a SniffSpot visit, running errands in the truck, or visits from our new grandson, who they adore.”

The video sparked discussions about crating dogs, with some users expressing concern. Keane reassured viewers that their decision to crate was made after consulting a dog behaviorist.

“We do not recommend other people crating together, but it works for us and our situation,” Keane explained.

She further elaborated, “The main reason we crate at night is because Annabelle is a very anxious dog. She is on alert all day long. Being in the crate means she is off duty.”

Crating, as advised by Georgia-based veterinarian Jess Kirk, can be beneficial if dogs get enough exercise and mental stimulation.
