Quick Smiles:

  • Minjae Cho brings positivity to Toronto commuters every day.
  • His small gestures and greetings have inspired thousands across the city.
  • Even city leaders and transit officials praise his cheerful spirit.

Minjae Cho once felt isolated while living a routine life in Toronto, but now he brightens the city through simple acts of kindness—like warmly wishing strangers a great week as they travel.

Today, he makes a unique impact as a full-time influencer with 36,000 Instagram followers and recognition from both the mayor and transit officials.

“It started at a time when I was in a lonely disconnected part of my life where I wasn’t seeing that many people. I wanted to push myself to show up more openly in everyday life with social interactions, and to rebuild my social confidence,”

Cho told CTV News Toronto.

Cho wears Meta glasses to unobtrusively capture the real moments with passengers—revealing the heartfelt smiles, laughter, and even hugs that his greetings inspire.

Many have shared with him that his kind words helped them through difficult times and brought comfort just when they needed it most.

Even TTC drivers recognize his cheerful presence and look forward to seeing him onboard.

TTC CEO Mandeep Lali said in a statement.

Mayor Olivia Chow expressed her admiration, suggesting that even small gestures like Cho’s, shared once a week, could transform Toronto into a friendlier, more connected neighborhood.

Keep spreading good vibes and find ways to brighten someone’s commute—joy is truly contagious!
