In a heartwarming display of affection and creativity, a pet owner has built a unique igloo for her injured husky. This special play area, nestled in the snowy landscape of an Oregon backyard, has brought joy to many across the internet.

The husky’s owner, Sally Compton (@pnwsally), documented some of the building process and posted it on her TikTok account. Since its upload on March 3, this viral clip has been viewed more than 2 million times.

This inspiring story has captivated social media users worldwide, sparking a conversation about the lengths to which owners will go for their furry friends.

The project was born out of an injury to the husky, named Wiley, that left him unable to play freely throughout the winter. “My husky Wiley has been injured the entire winter, so he hasn’t been able to do much,” shared Wiley’s owner, who resides in Oregon.

Understanding the breed’s affinity for the outdoors and cold weather, as well as Wiley’s individual need for a comfortable recovery area, Compton decided to assemble the igloo using large shovels and heaps of snow. Viewers got a glimpse of the igloo’s construction process in the viral footage.

Huskies, originally from Siberia, are working dogs bred for sled pulling in the snow and companionship. They’re known for their dense double coat, triangular ears, and distinctive markings, along with striking blue or multicolored eyes that set them apart from other breeds.

Despite their wolf-like appearance and preference for harsh climates, huskies are known for their gentle and friendly temperament. They exhibit a playful attitude, intelligence, and energy, making them ideal for families and individuals who can meet their high exercise needs.

Since it was posted on TikTok on March 10 by @pnwsally, the post has received more than 366,000 likes and over 600 comments.
