  • Khaza David Koon spent 974 days in foster care before being adopted.
  • Anna and Brenden Koon opened their hearts and home, embracing Khaza as their son.
  • The adoption was finalized in Hamilton County, Tennessee, marking a joyful new beginning.

After nearly three years in foster care, two-year-old Khaza David Koon found a home filled with love and hope thanks to Anna and Brenden Koon. Their journey began as foster parents dedicated to providing a safe place for children as families worked toward reunification.

“We always dreamed of helping kids find stability,” shared Anna. Their story took a turn in April 2023 when they welcomed 18-day-old Khaza, whose needs led to a special bond growing over the next year.

“He became part of our family in every way,” said Brenden, as everyday routines and celebrations intertwined their lives.

By October, state officials asked if they would consider adopting Khaza, recognizing the strong connection they shared.

On December 19, in a Hamilton County courtroom, Khaza was officially welcomed as a cherished son, bringing their foster care adventure to a heartfelt milestone.

This joyful adoption is a testament to the power of family and the difference love can make in a child’s life.
